Subject: Great Show!!!!!!
Maybe its because I just feel blessed every time I get a chance to seem them play, but I just lose myself in the moment every time. This was an especially amazing show for me. I finally got a Dark Star!!!! Which is my favorite Dead song if you couldn't tell. I love the ArtPark venue because of how small and cramped it is. I love small places because that is how music is supposed to be, The Cryptical ~ Dark Star ~ The Other One .... what a magical psychedelic moment. Also this was my first witnessed Bird Song which is such a classic. There is only one complaint I had, and it had nothing to do with the venue, the band or the performance, Since when did people start having loud annoying conversations during songs that have nothing to do with the music. I don't know, but when the music is playing I can't even think to talk, just sing and vibe. Can't wait to see Furthur again!

Subject: Upstate NY crowds are the BEST
What is it about Upstate NY crowds, they are the BEST? Having lived there, gone to college there, and seeing many Dead shows there - we know why! The crowd and the band always seem to bring their best.

Check out the audience roar when during They Love Each Other, they sung the verse "see a little FURTHUR," cool stuff.

I love the sound of this. Chimenti is up in the mix as he was most of the tour, and shines on Mason's Children. Also notable was the crowd singing during West L.A. Fadeaway! When the band fails, the crows comes through~

Subject: better than philly
I liked this show better than the philly shows. I was at all three. The only thing better in philly was the Blues For Allah>terrapin flyer...

There was lots of MIDI being used by John here, check out Man Smart, and the Birdsong for starts... then ease into the second set for a phenomenal 'Rag' and the classic Cryptical>Darkstar>otherone...Very psyhcadelic, spacey, lots of horn sounds and effects. Just how i like it

Subject: What?
Uptight Police?? Maybe you had the bad vibe. I never had a problem getting H2o. I guess timing is everything. I had seats inside and went out on the lawn for the 2nd set and I thought the sound was much better out on the lawn. The guitar sounded muffled inside and
was more airy(is that a word)outside. To each his own. My only problem was it was hotter than hell inside with absolutely no air movement. Excellent cryptical~Dark Star~The Other One.

Subject: anyone posting the mann shows?
I listened to this one and think it sounds pretty good. But, I can know how being at the show with uptight police and bad facilities can ruin the good time. Mann was pretty laid back, I thought.

Subject: caveat emptor
I have not listened to this recording... My review is based upon my being at the Art Park show.
Art Park and the police who work the state park where the venue sits, are WACK!!!
On a day setting records for the heat and ozone levels, Art Park, kept running out of water, yet always had beer and soda... If you had Gen. Adm. or Lawn seats, just above the tapers area, the sound was awful!!!! In the venue the sound was great!!!
To be honest, this show wasn't as WoW as others I've been to. I never once jumped up and went Yay! Also, everything was so elevated, no pun intended ;), but you had to mountainclimb just to get around that place, which made everything a hassle.
Love Furthur, but I'll pass on the Art Park place next time and I know the band has, can and will do better in the future. So this review is on the weak side.
A strange scene indeed!!!
